Police were called to the Night Ministry’s weekly outreach mission at Halsted and Belmont last night after a fight broke out and 911 callers reported rocks being thrown and hitting passing vehicles.

Officers arrived on scene at 10:20PM and immediately reported seeing a fight in progress in the lot. After striking the victim, three offenders chased him into oncoming traffic, forcing drivers to swerve to avoid collisions.

In custody for battery are a 22-year-old man whose address is a church in Wicker Park and two 18-year-olds from the South Side’s Washington Heights neighborhood. CWB is withholding their names as charges are pending.

As of this morning, police had not received reports of damage to vehicles.

Rev. Barbara Bolsen, Vice President for Programs at Night Ministry, is away until late next week and could not be reached for comment today.

Brash Burglar

A resident in the 3600 block of Magnolia woke up Thursday morning to a curious sight. While he slept, a burglar removed the security bars from his basement windows and broke in to his home. Recorded as a forcible entry burglary in CPD case HX386934.

About CWBChicago 4360 Articles
CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets.
