POOR PLANNING: Attempted Robbery In Boystown Apartment Sunday Evening

A Boytown resident the targeted of an attempted robbery inside his 5th floor apartment at Halsted and Belmont around 7:30 Sunday evening.

Police say the would-be robber may have entered the victim’s unit by climbing an exterior fire escape. The situation turned physical before the offender fled empty-handed.

Recorded as an attempted strong arm robbery in CPD case HX382313.

The suspect is described as male, black, 30 to 40 years old, 5’11” tall, slender build, wearing a navy hoodie and blue jeans. He may have been drunk.
