Chicago Police are warning of a criminal sexual assault that took place in west Lake View early last Sunday morning. According to the Sun-Times:
A 27-year-old woman was walking west in the 1600 block of West Fletcher about 2:25 a.m. on Sept. 14 when a man tackled her from behind, according to a police alert. The man forced the woman into the common area of her hallway, then lifted her dress and assaulted her…Police advise [sic] residents to walk in pairs, refrain from talking to strangers or approaching unknown vehicles, and travel in well-populated areas.
The suspect, described as a Hispanic man, 30- to 35- years old, 5’5” to 5’9” tall, thin build, with a pony tail, was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans.
Arriving officers said the man fled southbound in the west alley of Paulina, but the official statement says he fled in an “unknown” direction.
Officers transported the victim to Illinois Masonic Medical Center. CPD case HX427634.
