DePaul University public safety officers are believed to have detained a man overnight who is wanted for setting a fire on their campus Thursday as well as a fire on Roosevelt University’s Loop campus on Wednesday.

Police and fire personnel responded to a reported dumpster fire near Fullerton and Halsted around 1:10 this morning.  Minutes later, DePaul summoned cops to the 1000 block of Fullerton where public safety officers had detained a man who they suspected of setting a magazine ablaze in the university’s theater school Thursday morning.

Police took the suspect into custody for investigation.

An alert warning of the DePaul and Roosevelt incidents was issued by Chicago police arson investigators Thursday evening.
