Pineda (Ill Dept. Of Corrections)

One of two men charged with robbing a Boystown woman on March 11 pleaded guilty to aggravated battery in the case this week.

Abel Pineda, 31, reported to Stateville on Thursday to begin serving his 2-year sentence.

Pineda’s co-defendant, Maciej Sas, still faces robbery, aggravated battery, and unlawful restraint charges in connection with the incident in which Sas allegedly ordered a woman in the 700 block of Aldine to “give me your sh** nigga” before elbowing the victim in her stomach and wrestling away her cell phone.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
