UP THE RIVER: Crack-Loving Robbery Duo Sentenced

Sierra

Two men who went on a Lakeview robbery spree in 2013 so they could feed their crack cocaine habits, have received long prison sentences.

The duo targeted women, including at least one senior citizen, in their attacks.

Eric Sierra, 41, pleaded guilty to five robberies and was given four 7-year sentences plus one 8-year sentence. All sentences will be served concurrently.

Johnson

As a previously-convicted murderer, Johnson, 56, received longer sentences in exchange for his four guilty pleas: two 10-year sentences and two 15-year sentences. His sentences will also be served concurrently.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets. Our editorial email address is news@cwbchicago.com
