BIG & LITTLE: Wanted In Boystown Bank Robbery, Woman Strikes Again In Edgewater

The FBI says a floppy-hatted woman who robbed the TCF Bank branch inside of Boystown’s Jewel-Osco store on August 5 held up another bank Friday in Edgewater.

Friday’s robbery targeted the TCF Bank branch inside of the Jewel-Osco store at 5343 N. Broadway around 3:50PM.

As she did in Boystown, the woman presented a note in which she implied that she was armed with a gun. No firearm was seen in either incident.

Video of the latest hold-up shows the woman wearing a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, a gray dress, and what appears to be a blonde wig. The FBI estimates that the woman stands 5’3″ tall, weighs 200 pounds, and is between 30- and 40-years-old.

Investigators questioned a person of interest in the Boystown robbery after following pings from a tracking device that was hidden in the bank’s cash. The investigation did not pan out.

About CWBChicago 4360 Articles
CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets.
