UPDATE DECEMBER 29 12:07PM—The FBI has now released these surveillance photos of the suspect.

Even a driving storm of frozen ice pellets wasn’t enough to deter Boystown’s hardy criminal element yesterday.
Chicago police and the FBI are looking for a man who robbed the Byline Bank at Broadway and Belmont shortly before 2:30PM Monday—smack in the middle of a wind-driven ice storm.
Bank employees say the man walked into the bank and repeatedly implied that he was armed as he announced a robbery. No weapon was ever seen. After receiving about $1,500 in cash, the robber fled southbound on Broadway.
Police yesterday described the robber as a black man in his 30’s with a medium build. He stands about 5’9” tall and he wore a black parka with black jeans and he carried a black backpack.
The FBI was unable to produce timely images of the offender because the bank’s surveillance system was reportedly inaccessible.
