A man who recently held up a local bank branch pulled off another heist in nearby Lincoln Park this weekend, the FBI says.

The offender robbed the Fifth Third Bank branch at North Avenue and Clybourn around 9:40AM Saturday and then fled southbound, according to an officer who was on-scene.

According to the FBI, the same man robbed the Byline Bank at Halsted and Diversey on January 26; the U.S. Bank at 2131 S. China Place in Chinatown on December 28 and the American Eagle Bank at 2255 N. Western in Bucktown on January 15.

He is described as a black man standing between 6-feet and 6’4” tall, with a slender to medium build and a scruffy beard.

The FBI is offering a reward for information that leads to the man’s arrest. 312-421-6700.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets.
