Man Pointed BB Gun At Red Line Passenger’s Head, Prosecutors Say

A West Loop man is accused of pointing a replica firearm at a Rogers Park man’s head as the two rode a Red Line train into the Addison station.

Jackson (L) and Underwood (Chicago Police Department)

Cops met with the victim at the Addison station while other officers caught up with 24-year-old Antoine Jackson outside of the Belmont station, according to court records.

As officers approached, Jackson “was screaming ‘I only have a f***ing BB gun. You can’t lock me up for that,’” police said.

Contrary to his legal opinion, Jackson was indeed locked up for that and he’s charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possessing a replica firearm – BB gun.

A woman who was with Jackson is also charged in the case. 20-year-old Jasmine Underwood of Calumet City faces one count of simple assault, according to court records.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets.
