Death Investigation After Man Apparently Falls From Lakeview Apartment Building

Chicago police have launched a death investigation after a passer-by found a man bloody and unresponsive in a Lakeview gangway early Friday.

Officers found the man, who appeared to be in his 20’s, unconscious between two apartment buildings in the 700 block of West Briar around 2:10 a.m., police said.

The man was later pronounced dead at Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

Detectives believe the man may have accidentally fallen from the building’s roof, according to a source. His third-floor apartment window was found closed. Police were unable to find witnesses who could help them pinpoint the timing of the man’s injuries.
