Man Beaten, Robbed Near Seminary & Belmont Overnight

Every month this year has recorded more muggings in our neighborhood than the same month last year.

Now, September appears to be following suit.

A 31-year-old man suffered an open head wound while being beaten and robbed in the 3200 block of North Seminary this morning.

A passer-by found the victim on the ground near Seminary and School shortly after 1AM.

The offenders are described as two black men—one with dreadlocks wore a red t-shirt and black pants, the other wore a black shirt and black pants.

Both robbers were last seen running west on School from Seminary with he victim’s cell phone and wallet.

Police believe the suspects escaped on a Brown Line train from the Southport station.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets. Our editorial email address is news@cwbchicago.com
