A judge has sentenced an 18-year-old Chicago Lawn man faces to four years in prison for his involvement in a robbery that saw a group of five friends held-up at gunpoint in the heart of Boystown.
Buffkin | Cook County Sheriff |
Darius Buffkin held a gun to the five victims and threatened to shoot them as an accomplice collected the victims’ valuables, prosecutors said. Up to four other offenders surrounded the men, according to police. But Buffkin is the only person who was charged in the case.
The robbery went down at 4:40 a.m. on October 2 in the 700 block of West Roscoe. Buffkin was arrested about 30 minutes later in the 800 block of West Buckingham with one of the victim’s phones in his possession, police said.
Police said he confessed to the crime.
The judge determined that Buffkin will be eligible for the state’s Boot Camp program.
