NEW: Cops Describe Attacker’s Clothing In Lakeview Robbery, Rape Case

Chicago police have released new information about the man who raped and robbed a woman at gunpoint in Lakeview early Tuesday.

Police now say the offender had a mole on his face and he was wearing a brown or green sleeveless vest, a black button-downed shirt with white markings across the bottom, and dark colored pants.

The new information helps round out a more general description that was released Tuesday evening when the attacker was described as a black man between 25- and 30-years-old who stands about 5’9” tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He has short hair, a medium complexion and he has a short beard or scruff on his chin.

A 25-year-old woman told investigators that the man attacked her near Barry and Racine around midnight on Tuesday.

The woman was walking to her car in the 1200 block of West Barry when the man approached her and pulled out a handgun.

He demanded the woman’s money and then forced her into her vehicle at gunpoint. Once inside the car, he sexually assaulted the victim, police said. He then fled in an unknown direction.

Anyone with information about this morning’s attack is asked to call Area North detectives at 312.744.8261 about case #JA169654.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
