Man Found Dead With Knife Wounds On Montrose Beach

Detectives are conducting a death investigation after a man was found dead on Montrose Beach early Friday morning, according to a police source.

A park district worker found the man lying dead on the dog beach, about 15 feet from the water’s edge at 3:30 a.m. A knife was lying near the man’s body. His throat was cut on the left side, and his left wrist also appeared to be lacerated, police said.

The cause of death has yet to be determined.

Few details are available about the victim, but there are indications that he may have lived at a homeless encampment near the Lawrence Avenue viaduct.
