Attempted Child Luring Near Uptown/Andersonville Border

Chicago police have issued a community alert after a man tried to lure a 13-year-old boy into his car near the border of Uptown and Andersonville Tuesday morning.

The boy was walking in the 5100 block of North Clark around 8 a.m. when a  man in a dark blue four-door vehicle pulled up and told him to get into the car. Instead, the victim ran to his home and called his parents, police said.

The suspect is described as a small, thinly-built white man who has short, straight gray hair and a clean-shaven face. He may be driving a Toyota Corolla, according to the police alert.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Area North Detectives at 312-747-8380 about case JB-126425.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
