Around 9:30 a.m. on January 31, a woman was confronted by a man armed with a handgun in the 2300 block of North Bosworth who told her to “give me your phone and purse,” police said. The man took her property and jumped over a nearby fence.
Then, on February 4, CTA cameras captured images of a man who may be the robbery offender as he used the victim’s Ventra card at a Blue Line station, police said. The next day, the same man used her Ventra card on the Red Line at 79th Street, according to detectives.
Police want to speak with the man seen in these images. They say he is black or Hispanic, about 5’9” tall, and 150 pounds. He has been seen wearing a black jacket with patches and a dark hood, torn jeans, and gray backpack.
