In these crimes, a gunman has entered small retail shops and displayed a weapon while demanding money from the cash register. Police said surveillance videos show the same man robbing a salon in the 1000 block of North Clark around 3:45 p.m. on January 29 and another shop in the 1500 block of North Halsted last Thursday afternoon.

According to the alert, the offender is a bearded black male, 6-feet to 6’3” tall, and 45- to 55-years-old. During the January 29 hold-up, he was wearing a brown and yellow Starter jacket with “New York” on the back, according to a police source.

About CWBChicago 4360 Articles
CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets.
