UPDATE 5:38PM — Chicago police issued a community alert about this incident on Wednesday. The alert described the suspect as a black male, “25-35 years of age, 5’7-5’11, 150- 190 pounds with short black hair, dark skin with possible facial hair. The offender was wearing dark clothing.”

A 30-year-old woman was battered and sexually assaulted in the courtyard of her Uptown apartment building early Tuesday morning, police said. No one is in custody.
Police said the woman was entering the front yard of her residence in the 4400 block of North Magnolia around 2:30 a.m. when an unknown man grabbed her and threw her to the ground. He then sexually assaulted the woman and fled in an unknown direction, according to a police spokesman.
The victim, who suffered injuries to her arms and legs, was transported to Weiss Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Police described the offender as a black male between 25- and 35-years-old with short brown hair. He was wearing dark clothing.
On April 19, a Lakeview woman was sexually assaulted after a man followed her into her apartment building in the 3900 block of North Fremont. Prosecutors charged 29-year-old Terrence Wright in that attack. Wright is being held without bail.
