Cops: South Loop firebug set four trash cans on fire Friday

Four trash cans on the Near South Side were set on fire early Friday and Chicago police are hoping that surveillance video will lead to the arrest of a suspect. The man seen here rode up to the trash cans and set them on fire between 3:45 a.m. and 4:10 a.m., police said. No major property damage was reported. Fires were set in the 1300, 14,00, 1500, and 1700 block of South Michigan.

Police said the offender is a white or Hispanic man who wore dark pants and a royal blue hooded sweatshirt with a white Nike logo on the front. He rode a blue bicycle.
