Lakeview: Woman reports gunpoint robbery in her home

A Lakeview woman told police that two men robbed her at gunpoint in her home Thursday evening in the 3900 block of North Pine Grove. No one is in custody.

The victim, 22, reported that two men entered her apartment through the front door around 6:20 p.m. and pointed a handgun at her, a police spokesperson said. The men entered her apartment and began going through her pockets.

Those two men took things from her home, the woman said, then they ran down the hallway. The woman was not injured, police said.

Police said the victim told them that one offender was white and the other was black. Both men were wearing backpacks. One wore a gray skull cap, had a beard, and wore a long-sleeved gray t-shirt. The other wore a puffy blue jacket and acid wash jeans, the woman said.

Two suspects were seen on video leaving the building, police said. No one is in custody.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets. Our editorial email address is news@cwbchicago.com
