A 73-year-old woman was attacked and robbed by a 16-year-old boy on Wednesday afternoon near the DePaul University campus in Lincoln Park. The offender has been arrested, police said.

The woman was walking in the 2400 block of North Sheffield around 2:15 p.m. when the teen grabbed her and wrestled away her purse, which contained cash and the victim’s phone, police said. A witness gave police a detailed description of the offender and said the robber fled west on Altgeld.

About CWBChicago 4358 Articles
CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets.
