Police on Sunday afternoon released a home surveillance image of the man they believe sexually assaulted one woman and attacked a second woman early Saturday morning in Lincoln Park.

The image, seen enlarged above and at normal magnification below, shows the offender riding his bike near the attack scene.

A police spokesperson said the two women were standing in an alley in the 2200 block of North Orchard around 4:30 a.m. Saturday when a man approached and shoved both of them to the ground, police said. He then sexually assaulted one of the women.

The other woman was able to fight the man off by kicking him in the face, police said.

The offender is described as a white or Hispanic man in his late 20’s or early 30’s who stands about 5’6” tall, weighs 150 pounds, and has dark hair. He was last seen on a bicycle wearing a white t-shirt and shorts. Police said he may have cuts on his face.

Anyone with information about the incident may contact Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380 regarding case JC-277954.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets. Our editorial email address is news@cwbchicago.com
