Woman robbed at Lakeview Starbucks

A Lakeview woman was robbed of her phone as she enjoyed some “me time” at Starbucks, 3045 North Greenview, on Thursday.

The victim was seated at the coffee shop around 12:10 p.m. when a man grabbed her phone, then pulled the woman from her seat as they wrestled for control of the device.

She told police that the man and an accomplice jumped into a gray Infiniti SUV that fled south on Greenview. Police later spotted the vehicle and the suspects near a Target store in the 2600 block of North Clark, but the crew managed to slide away again. Witnesses reported seeing the car entering southbound Lake Shore Drive at a high rate of speed around 12:30 p.m.

Both robbers were described as black men wearing camouflage hoodies that have snake-like emblems on the side.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
