Auto thieves are targeting Subarus in Edgewater, cops say

Someone is stealing parked and locked Subaru vehicles in Edgewater, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

Three vehicles that were parked on neighborhood streets were stolen between June 20th and June 26th, according to the alert that detectives issued on July 12th. All of the vehicles were locked before they were taken, police said.

Autos were stolen from the 5800 block of North Glenwood between 7 p.m. on June 20th and 8 a.m on June 21st; from the 1200 block of West Ardmore between 5 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. on June 24th; and from the 1200 block of West Bryn Mawr between 9 a.m. on June 25th and 6:45 a.m. on June 26th.

Police are suggesting that residents pay attention to suspicious people loitering in the area.
