No one was reported injured after shots were fired during an argument in the Lakeview neighborhood early Saturday.

Police responded to a flood of 911 calls reporting the incident just before 4 a.m. in the 3600 block of North Ashland. Callers said between five and ten shots were fired after a group of white men began arguing with a group of Hispanic men.

Witnesses said a group that fled in a black sedan that was decorated with black and gold balloons had been shot at by someone who pursued them in a silver SUV. Both vehicles were seen speeding north from the shooting scene.

Moments later, callers reported seeing two cars speeding southbound near the Paulina Brown Line station. Other callers then reported hearing more shots fired near Addison and Damen.

No property damage was reported, and no one was apparently injured at any of the locations.

Police were called back to the 3600 block of North Ashland around 8 a.m. after a woman reported finding spent shell casings in front of a salon.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets. Our editorial email address is news@cwbchicago.com
