Chicago police have issued a robbery alert for the Wicker Park neighborhood after investigators established a pattern involving two muggings near the intersection of Milwaukee, North, and Damen avenues.

Two or three men attacked the victims from behind and robbed them, first on the 2000 block of West North at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 13 and then on the 1600 block of North Damen at 10:25 a.m. Aug. 18th.

In the more recent incident, the men attacked a woman and threw her to the ground near the Walgreen’s parking lot at 1601 North Damen, according to police records. The robbers escaped in an older model dark green Honda Civic, the alert said. Details of the Aug. 13 case were not immediately available.

Investigators described the robbers as three black males between 16- and 21-years-old. Two stand 5’8” to 6’2” tall and weigh 140 to 200 pounds while the third is slightly taller and weighs more, the alert said.

Information about the robbery cases may be shared with Area North detectives at 312-744-823. Callers should refer to pattern number P19-N-214.
