Rock-throwing car vandal strikes again overnight; 17 vehicles found with broken windows in Loop garage

The Franklin Street suspect | CPD

Police this morning said a man who broke out dozens of car windows in Loop parking garages on Tuesday evening may have struck again overnight. About seventeen vehicles parked in a garage on the first block of East Adams were found with rocks thrown through their rear windows around 12:45 a.m. today.

Before this morning’s repeat performance, detectives released a surveillance image of the man responsible for Tuesday’s damage. Police said the man is responsible for breaking out car windows of 24 vehicles parked in a garage on the 300 block of South Franklin around 6:15 p.m. He is also suspected of damaging more cars in a garage on the 100 block of West Madison about a half-hour later, police said.

Nothing was taken from the damaged vehicles, police said.

Anyone with information about the man may contact Area Central detectives at 312-747-8384 about pattern number P19-1-259.
