Charges have been filed in connection with a Christmastime invasion at Marina City.

Amrose Kaler, 20, turned himself in to cops at the 18th District police station around 7 p.m. last Thursday, according to CPD records.

Around 8:15 p.m. on Dec. 17, three men forced their way into a 23-year-old man’s condo at the landmark “corn cob” high-rises, 300 North State, Loop North News reported.

One of the offenders shoved the victim against a wall and punched him in the jaw, the victim said.  Then, they stole the man’s cellphone and took $1,000 from his safe. The victim told police that he knew all three of the men who were involved.

Kaler, whose Facebook profile says he works as an “independent street pharmisist,” is charged with felony aggravated robbery and felony burglary.

Court records show Judge David Navarro set bail at $10,000 and Kaler went home after posting a 10% deposit bond of $1,000.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
