Police are investigating after a woman reported being robbed at knifepoint on the North-Clybourn Red Line platform yesterday evening.
A man walked up to the 26-year-old as she waited for a northbound train around 7:15 p.m., police said. The offender reportedly pulled out a knife, took the woman’s purse, and then ran from the station.
The woman said the robber is a black male who’s about 30-years-old. He wore a black scarf on his face, stonewash jeans, a black hoodie, and white shoes.
CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings.
Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets.
