Chicago police are investigating after a 28-year-old woman reported being sexually assaulted by an Uber driver who picked her up at a Lakeview bar on Sunday evening.

A staff member at Redmond’s Ale House, 3358 North Sheffield, hailed the Uber for the woman around 7:40 p.m., according to police records. The driver then sexually assaulted the woman in his SUV before dropping her off near her destination on the 3300 block of North Karlov, the victim reported.

Police already have the driver’s name, license plate number, and other information from the Uber app. He lives in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.

The victim was taken to Community First Hospital in good condition, police said.
