Burglar targeted North Center block 8 times this month, police say

A burglar has broken into eight garages on a single North Center block this month, according to Chicago police. All of the break-ins occurred on the 3700 block of North Wolcott.

The burglar forced his way into condominium garages and stole property from inside and from storage areas, according to an alert from Area North detectives.

He struck twice at 4:05 a.m. on Apr. 3 and six times around 3:40 a.m. on Apr. 20, detectives said.

Police said the offender is a white or Hispanic man who wore a black hoodie with black pants.

Detectives encouraged residents to tell their neighbors about the crime pattern and ask people to report suspicious individuals via 911.
