Another man told police that he was robbed in the Lincoln Square neighborhood last night. He’s the third person to be held-up in the immediate area this week.

Police responded to the 4500 block of North Leavitt around 8:25 p.m. Wednesday after a 911 caller said a robbery victim asked him to call for help.

The victim told officers that a man approached him on the street and demanded his phone and cash while implying that he had a gun in his waistband.

According to the victim, the robber is a thin black male in his 20’s who stands about 6’2” tall and wore black clothing.

Wednesday’s robbery details are similar to events described by two separate victims who were mugged nearby on Tuesday.

Both of those victims said a tall man implied he had a weapon and robbed them as they walked in the neighborhood. Tuesday’s robberies were reported on the 4400 block of North Campbell around 9:30 p.m. and on the 2000 block of West Eastwood around 9:50 p.m., according to police.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets. Our editorial email address is news@cwbchicago.com
