Chicago police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who allegedly tried to extort a Lakeview restaurant last week.

Area North detectives on Tuesday night released three images of the man who’s wanted in connection with the incident that unfolded around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, at Mixteco Grill, 847 West Belmont.

The man walked into the restaurant with a brown paper bag that contained a note “with criminal implication,” according to the police bulletin. No further details were released, but the note was described as “threatening” by a person familiar with the matter. The bullet describes the incident as “intimidation/extortion.”

Anyone with information about the man can contact Area Three detectives at 312-744-8261 about case JD-268440.
