Police are investigating after a man with a knife robbed a convenience store near the Western Brown Line early Thursday. No one was injured.
The robber reportedly got away with cash and food items during the hold-up at 7-Eleven, 4631 North Western in Lincoln Square.
Police said the man entered the store around 1:25 a.m. and demanded money from the cashier while presenting a knife. The clerk opened the register and the robber took the cash before fleeing, according to a CPD statement.
A witness told police the robber walked south on Western and then east on Wilson Avenue. The suspect was described as a black male who stands about 5’4” tall. He wore a hat and a dark hoodie that has letters on the back.
Area 3 detectives are investigating.
