Woman stabbed in Loop hotel lobby overnight

A woman is in fair condition with multiple stab wounds following a fight inside a Loop hotel lobby overnight, police said. No one is in custody.

The victim, age 30, was stabbed repeatedly by another woman during a fight around 2:13 a.m. Monday inside the Swissotel, 323 East Wacker, according to a CPD statement and dispatch records. The offender left the scene on foot.

Witnesses reported seeing a group of about 20 people outside the hotel and more inside the lobby around the time of the incident.

Police said the victim suffered cuts to her head and arm as well as multiple stab wounds to her back. The woman does not have any history of contact with Chicago police, officials said. 

An ambulance transported the victim to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in fair condition.

Area 3 detectives are investigating.
