A man robbed a woman as she walked near the Magnificent Mile on Saturday morning, then forced her into a minivan and sexually assaulted her, according to Chicago police. No one is in custody.
The victim, age 37, was walking eastbound on the 100 block of East Huron when the offender rolled up in a white Honda Odyssey minivan around 7:10 a.m., police said in a community alert.
She said the man got out of the van, implied that he had a weapon, and robbed her. He then told the woman to get into his van. There, he forced her into the back seat and sexually assaulted her, police said.
The man eventually let the woman go and fled eastbound in the van.
Police described the attacker as a Black male between 20- and 26-years-old who stands 5’4” to 5’7” tall. He’s thin, had his hair pulled back into a ponytail, and wore a black t-shirt with jeans, according to the alert.
