Rogers Park burglar strikes 4 times on same block

Burglars have broken into apartments and residential storage rooms on a single Rogers Park block four times this month, according to Chicago police.

The burglar enters through a window or front door and takes bikes, jewelry, electronics, and other valuables. Then, the thieves walk out the back door.

All four incidents were reported on the 6800 block of North Lakewood:

  • around noon on September 13
  • between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on September 18
  • around 10 a.m. on September 19
  • around 2 p.m. on September 22

Police did not release any suspect descriptions. However, the community alert from Area Three detectives advised residents to maintain their security systems and report suspicious activity to 911 immediately.

Anyone with information about the crimes can contact Area Three investigators at 312-744-8263 regarding pattern P20-3-180.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets. Our editorial email address is news@cwbchicago.com
