A man is in serious condition after being shot several times during an altercation in Rogers Park on Sunday morning, police said. No one is in custody.
The shooting unfolded in the 1500 block of West Howard around 10:35 a.m., according to CPD.
Police said the 32-year-old victim and the shooter were involved in a physical fight when the gunman pulled out a weapon and shot him repeatedly in the lower body. The offender then ran from the scene. Officers found the victim in an alley behind Howard Street.
According to an officer at the scene, an ambulance transported the victim to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston with several gunshot wounds to his legs and lower trunk.
Cops were searching the area for a possible suspect, who was described as a Black male wearing a red flannel shirt or jacket.
Area Three detectives are investigating.
