One-man crime wave tried to rob *another* woman in Old Town yesterday

On Monday, he stole money from an Old Town dry cleaners.

Tuesday morning, he returned to the shop at 703 West Willow and robbed them at knifepoint. Cops recovered a steak knife that he left behind.

Around 4:45 that afternoon, investigators believe, a woman confronted him as he burglarized her nearby apartment on the 800 block of West Armitage.

He apparently took Wednesday off.

Thursday, witnesses called police when they recognized him outside the dry cleaners around 6 p.m. Before cops arrived, he robbed another woman at knifepoint and got away.

Guess what happened Friday?

If you said he was seen near the dry cleaners again, you win. Just after 4 p.m., witnesses again called 911 after they saw the man outside the shop. And, once again, he tried to rob a woman on the street before officers arrived.

Police said the man attempted to take the woman’s phone near Willow and Orchard, but she managed to keep control of her property. The man ran away.

No one has been hurt in any of the incidents so far, although the man did push a 77-year-old woman out of the way when he robbed the cleaners on Tuesday.

The suspect has consistently worn a navy blue hoodie, according to witnesses and victims. He’s Black, in his 20’s or early 30’s, and stands about 6’1” tall.
