Burglary crews hauled away loads of merchandise from at least two businesses on the North Side early Saturday. No one is in custody.
First, a group of prowlers broke into Pogo, a high-end sneaker store at 912 West Armitage in Lincoln Park. Police found the store burglarized around 2:15 a.m. A trail of fallen merchandise led onto a nearby side street.
Then, around 5 a.m., officers responded to a burglar alarm at Ulta Beauty, 3015 North Clark in Lakeview. An employee who was arriving to prepare for a post-holiday promotion reported seeing three men hauling garbage bins full of merchandise out of the cosmetics retailer.
The burglars loaded the products into a white SUV that sped from the scene. Police said the thieves forced their way through the store’s front doors.
Area Three detectives are investigating the break-ins.
