Gunmen tried to hijack Amazon truck in Lakeview, police say

Two men who tried to hijack an Amazon delivery truck Saturday in Lakeview gave up after the courier crashed into their car and sped away, according to a CPD report.

Two men displayed a handgun and demanded the 25-year-old’s property and control of her delivery truck in the 800 block of West Fletcher around 2:40 p.m., according to Officer Roberto Garduno.

But the Amazon driver wasn’t having it. She stepped on the gas and crashed into the passenger side of the robbers’ silver Nissan Maxima. The offenders reportedly gave up, got back into their car, and fled south on Sheffield.

The driver described the robbers as a White male and a Black male who’s in his mid- to late-20’s. Police searched the area for the men and their car, which likely has heavy damage to its passenger side, but the cops came up empty-handed.

Area Three detectives are investigating.
