Man shot while driving in West Town

A man is recovering after someone shot him as he waited for a red light to change in West Town on Thursday night, police said. No arrests have been made.

The victim, age 32, told police he was driving when a silver SUV pulled up alongside him as he waited for the light to change on Division Street at the Kennedy Expressway around 11:35 p.m. Someone fired shots from inside the SUV, striking the victim’s minivan twice. One round entered the victim’s leg, police said.

He flagged down police officers nearby and an ambulance transported him to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition.

Detectives are investigating the case.
