Lincoln Square: Police warn of suspicious man near Welles Park

Police are warning people about a man who made lewd remarks and followed a group of teenage girls near Welles Park on Tuesday afternoon. The man did not touch any of the girls and no crime was committed, police said in the bulletin.

According to CPD, the man approached the girls near the park at 2333 West Sunnyside around 4:54 p.m. and then followed them to the 2200 block of West Cullom while making “lewd and inappropriate comments.”

When the girls entered a building to get help, he stayed outside for a short time.

Police described him as White and in his mid-20’s. He wore a green winter hat with a ball on top, a multi-colored scarf, puffy down jacket, and red and black checkered pants.
