West Ridge: Home invaders zip-tie residents, steal gun, truck, and more

Armed home invaders zip-tied three victims inside a West Ridge home Sunday night and stole money, a firearm, a car, and other property, according to a CPD report. The victims received minor injuries but declined medical attention.

Two men who both displayed handguns broke through the victims’ back door on the 2900 block of West Howard around 10 p.m. They then restrained the residents with zip ties.

The victims, who are men aged 35, 31, and 24, were all robbed of personal property, CPD spokesperson Sally Bown said. According to a police report, the intruders took other valuables from the house, including a handgun from inside a bedroom dresser.

They also took one of the victims’ navy blue 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 truck parked outside.

A neighbor discovered the men and helped them until police arrived.

None of the victims recognized the intruders, who are described as Hispanic men in their mid-20’s. They wore all black clothing, and one of them wore Air Jordans, according to the victims.
