Attacker sexually assaults woman in Lakeview alley, police say

A Lakeview woman was forced into an alley and sexually assaulted by a man who claimed he had a gun early Sunday, police said.

The victim, 29, was walking westbound in the 1000 block of West School street when the attacker grabbed her from behind, said he had a gun, and forced her into the alley around 3:45 a.m., according to a community alert from Area Three detectives.

He sexually assaulted her in the alley and then walked away eastbound, police said.

The woman went to her home, which is near Wrigley Field, and outcried to her boyfriend, who called police. Officers drove her to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center for treatment.

Police said the offender is a Black male in his late-20’s or early-30’s who wore a black nylon covering on his head. He is about 5’10” tall and 175 pounds.

Anyone with information about the attack can contact detectives at 312-744-8261 regarding case JE-174962.
