Carjacker pulls woman from SUV in West Town, police say

A carjacker pulled a woman from her Range Rover in West Town and drove away with the SUV on Tuesday evening, police said. No arrests have been made.

According to a police report, the victim, age 28, was parking her car on the 700 block of North Wood when a man pointed a gun at her head and opened the driver’s door around 10:15 p.m., according to a police report.

His accomplice, a woman, opened the passenger door and took the victim’s purse as the gunman pulled the driver from the car and told her to leave, police said.

The offenders then drove away with her black 2014 Evoque. She said the male hijacker was Black, about 5’6” tall and skinny. He wore a red hoodie with a black bandana on his face.

On Monday evening, two separate drivers reported that a man-woman carjacking team tried to hijack them in Little Italy. One incident took place near Ashland and Roosevelt around 8:25 p.m. and the other on the 1900 block of West Roosevelt about ten minutes later.

Police have not yet linked Monday’s reports with last night’s carjacking.

Detectives are investigating.
