A 39-year-old man was fatally shot at a house party in West Town on Sunday morning. Police are looking for another party-goer who witnesses identified as the killer.
Police responded to an apartment in the 1500 block of West North Avenue after the victim’s wife called 911 for help around 6:30 a.m.
The victim suffered a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. He died at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center a short time later.
Investigators found one shell casing in the kitchen of the third-floor apartment. The suspected shooter, a 34-year-old man, fled before police arrived.
Detectives are investigating.
