Man, shot while driving in West Town, in critical condition

A 49-year-old man was shot while driving on Division Street near the Kennedy Expressway on Sunday evening, police said. No one is in custody.

The man was driving westbound on Division in his Honda Civic when a bullet came through the driver’s side window and struck him under his left arm around 8:35 p.m., according to a CPD report. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

Police released no information about who fired the shot or if any other circumstances led up to the shooting.

Area Five detectives are investigating.
