Package room burglar sought in Lakeview East

Police are looking for a man who’s forced his way into a pair of Lakeview apartment buildings over the past week to steal packages and other items. The break-ins occurred on the 400 and 500 blocks of West Oakdale during overnight hours, according to the alert.

Police said the man used a screwdriver to force his way through the buildings’ front doors and then entered storage rooms where packages and other items were kept.

The burglar struck on the 400 block of West Oakdale at 3:48 a.m. Friday, April 16, and on the 500 block of West Oakdale around 4:15 a.m. on Sunday, April 18, police said.

According to the alert, he’s a Black male between 30- and 40-years-old who stands 5’10” to 6-feet tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He wore a yellow vest with white stripes, a face mask, and gloves, police said.
